Catalytic Corps’ PMU: Driving Waterbody Rejuvenation in Maharashtra

We are thrilled to share the significant progress made by our Project Management Unit (PMU) in collaboration with the Department of Soil and Water Conservation in Mumbai. Our dedicated team has been at the forefront, catalyzing the delivery process by effectively planning, training, and coordinating with multiple on-ground NGOs and government functionaries at all levels.

Our PMU has meticulously crafted strategic plans to address the unique challenges faced by each district. By conducting comprehensive training sessions, we have equipped local NGOs and government officials with the skills and knowledge necessary to implement these plans effectively. This collaborative approach has ensured seamless coordination and execution across all 35 districts of Maharashtra.

As a result of these concerted efforts, we’ve made substantial strides in rejuvenating waterbodies across the state, just in time for the monsoon. This initiative is set to bring numerous benefits, including:

Boosting Farmers’ Income: Rejuvenated waterbodies ensure better irrigation, leading to improved crop yields and increased income for farmers. With enhanced water availability, farmers can now cultivate multiple crops throughout the year, thereby diversifying their income sources and achieving greater financial stability.

Building a Better Society: Enhanced water conservation efforts contribute to environmental sustainability and community well-being. The rejuvenation of waterbodies has led to the replenishment of groundwater levels, improved biodiversity, and the creation of healthier ecosystems. These efforts also promote community engagement and awareness about the importance of water conservation, fostering a culture of sustainability.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to the Amit Chandra Foundation (ATECF) for their unwavering leadership and dedication to this cause over the years. Their efforts have been instrumental in making this a reality for millions of farmers in the country. The foundation’s support has enabled us to leverage cutting-edge technologies and innovative approaches, ensuring the long-term success and sustainability of our initiatives.

We are proud of the collective impact made and look forward to continuing our journey towards a sustainable and prosperous Maharashtra. Together, we are building a future where every farmer has access to the water resources they need to thrive, and every community can enjoy the benefits of a healthy and sustainable environment.
